choice
The outcome we are seeking is ‘freedom of choice if used for good’.
Insights
Often we look at what others are doing and have little insight into why they act a certain way. A great one is those who’re stuck in a ‘cycle’. From the outside it can seem a simple thing to break but when you come from a space where you don’t believe you have the same choices as others do, a ‘cycle’ can be almost impossible to break even with the greatest of willpower and intentions. How awful must it be, to be stuck in a space where you feel you have no choice but to carry on the path that you’re on, to live with the cards that have been dealt.
Once you have a full realisation and belief this is simply a ‘story’ you’ve bought into, therefore your life has been following that path, things become significantly easier to change.
Another one we repeatedly hear is ‘we come into this world to learn a lesson’. Again, another ‘story’ that’s been bought into. This limiting belief is a good example of how things travel through our DNA to imprint on our beliefs today. As our tupuna (ancestors) imprint on us, we imprint on our future generations. If we continue to believe this is why we come here, then that’s what we’ll continue to get. Lesson after lesson after lesson. Imagine if we all believed we came here to make the world a better place. What behaviours would that attract? What actions would that drive?
Placing self-limiting beliefs on others is often used as a means of control. Unfortunately narcissists are experts at manipulation. They often ensure their choices become your choices by telling you what your choices are, or lead you to believe you have no choices, as a way to make you buy into their ‘story’ … all by choice of course. Next thing you know you have developed beliefs that keep you stuck in a situation because you believe your choices are limited.
Everybody has available to them, the freedom of choice. We just need to choose to change our story, for the greatest good of all concerned, which includes ourselves.
